Three decades inside enterprise systems — IBM, Sprint, Sabre, FedEx — produced 31 U.S. patents in systems optimization and telemetry, and one persistent finding: organizations with the data, talent, and authority to act often cannot. The limiting factor is governance, not capability. What gets read as resistance to change is, on closer reading, rational evaluation of system conditions that already discourage it.
Doctor of Business Administration candidate, Texas State University — McCoy College of Business (enrolling August 2026). Working paper on SSRN: Resistance as Rational Evaluation.
